Cool Picks Monday February 25, 2013

1) Suzane Vega,  highly acclaimed folk pop, singer/songwriter/acoustic guitar player and who Biography Magazine called “one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation,” is in concert at  Club Cafe tonight. Her songs include the top 10  hits “Luka,” and  “Tom’s Diner.”  6:30 and 8:30 p.m. 56 S. 12th St., South Side.

2) H2O, from NYC, are described as a “melodic hardcore punk act,”  what a great description! You’ll  get your hardcore punk on and get some great singing as well. They’ll be teaming up with Terror, a metal band from L.A., tonight.  Also on the bill are: Backtrack, Code Orange Kids and Path To Misery. 6:30 p.m. Altar Bar. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3) The Balcony Big Band’s hitting only high notes in a Monday night performance at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. 8 p.m. No cover. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.

4) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Monday’s continues tonight with host band, Roger Humphries Trio and featured jazz artist, vocalist Tim Stevens. 5 – 9 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., The Strip District.
