1) Shatner’s World will eclipse the Pittsburgh nightlife scene tonight. William Shatner, the man we all loved as Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek series, as TV police sergeant T. J. Hooker, and as Priceline’s pitchman, is now touring with his one man show. The production traces his journey from early training as a Shakespearean actor, through his television roles, personal life, and in his most dramatic role yet–being himself. Shatner’s world is replete with songs, tales, jokes, anecdotes and touching stories. You’re allowed to enter Shatner’s World at 7:30 p.m. The entrance doors are  located at 237 7th St. (Benedum Center), Downtown Cultural District.

2) The “Reverend” is in town. The Reverend Horton Heat, that is. The Reverend is Dallas-based musician Jim Heath and his band. Their music has been described as “psychobilly,”with influences from surf, rock, big band, punk, country and several other musical genres, delivering an eclectic, energetic fusion.  The Reverend’s service begins at the Altar (Bar), 7:30 p.m.  Assisting in the service are: The Cheats, Ben Dumm and the Deviants, The Turbosonics. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3) There’s a big Doo Wop Holiday show at the Palace Theatre with Cornell Gunter’s Coasters, the Marvelettes, and Marshak’s Tribute to The Platters. 2 p.m. & 8 p.m. 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.

4) South Side’s Smiling Moose is hosting a hip-hop/rap show tonight with Dreadpool ParkerTo Live and Die in New JerseyCornelius the ThirdStillborn Identity, US. 9:30 p.m. No cover. 1306 E. Carson St. (upstairs).
