1) The Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society launches their fall season with the award winning Jerusalem Quartet. The Quartet will be playing a program of pieces composed by Mozart, Shostakovich and Borodin. Hear great music in a beautiful setting. Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland. 7:30 p.m., 4400 Forbes Ave.

2) Maple & Vine, City Theatre’s currently running production about people reverting back to the lifestyle of the “good old days,” in a modern-day, 1950s-style community. “Happy days are here again” until problems arise, which makes for a humorous story line. Runs through November 4th. 7 p.m. 1300 Bingham St., South Side.

3) The Granati Brothers, Hermie and David, square off in a friendly dueling pianos competition at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille.  8 p.m. No cover. 103 Slade Lane, Warrendale.

4) “Space Exchange” is happening tonight at Thunderbird Cafe in the “ville.” Tonight’s featured line-up is the Parker-Throck-McDonald Trio, an improvising group that is part of a diverse series that pushes the boundaries of jazz and rock outward, to new levels. 9 p.m. No cover. 4023 Butler St., Lawrenceville.
