Pittsburgh Symphony & Pittsburgh Opera Perform at Point State Park (CP’s Mon. 6/10/13)

1) The Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival continues today. The festival features 10 days of free art and music shows! There’s also theater productions and hands-on arts activities for kids. Don’t forget the festival food including gyros, grilled chicken kabobs, funnel cakes and plenty of deep-fried food items. Tonight’s featured musical act at the Dollar Bank Stage is the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra with Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artists. Wow. What a great combination and at a great outdoor venue! 7 p.m. Festival opens at noon daily and runs through June 16. Point State Park and Gateway Center, Downtown.

2) Death Grips is an experimental hip-hop band from Sac-Cal (Sacramento, California ), whose musical style is sometime slow and sometime screechy but always interesting. Opening is Ratking. 8 p.m. Altar Bar, 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays continues tonight with host band Roger Humphries Trio and featured musician, Eric Johnson, jazz guitarist. 5 – 9 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.

4)  Check out new and established talent at one of the towns’ best open stage nights, Club Cafe’AcoustiCafe. The supportive and friendly event is hosted by musician Brad Yoder. 7 p.m. 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side.
