Pirates Game + Zambelli Fireworks; 1960 World Series Iconic Items at Heinz History Center (CPs Sat., 4/19/14)

1) Our battlin’ Bucs take on the Milwaukee Brewers again tonight at PNC Park. Stick around for a beautiful display of post-game Zambelli fireworks. 7:05 p.m. 115 Federal St., North Shore.

2) Relive the excitement of one of the greatest games in baseball history with Mazeroski Artifacts from the 1960 World Series at the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, inside the Heinz History Center. Other than last year’s brief stint at PNC Park, Mazeroski’s famed Pirates uniform and bat heard ’round the world haven’t seen a local crowd since that fateful day at Forbes Field. In addition to Mazeroski’s belongings, you can see other memorabilia including Dick Groat’s jersey from his 1960 MVP season, and the pitching rubber and first base from the iconic Game 7 of the Series. On display until May 1. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 1212 Smallman St., Strip District.

3) The Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra goes to the movies with a special live program featuring jazz pieces from James Bond films and from Catch Me If You Can, Taxi Driver, and more. Carrying the theme forward, at intermission movie snacks and popcorn will be offered. 8 p.m. MCG Jazz,1815 Metropolitan St., Manchester.

4) Blue-eyed soul man Billy Price, a Pittsburgh blues legend, performs at Moondog’s in Blawnox. Price has played with some of the biggest names in blues and soul. Price cut his teeth in the ’70’s playing with local band the Rhythm Kings and then as lead singer for noted guitarist Roy Buchanan. His Keystone Rhythm Band was one of the region’s hottest groups in the 1980s and Price remains one of Pittsburgh’s best blues singers. His latest release, 2013’s Strong, is his 13th album. 9 p.m. 378 Freeport Rd.
