Pens vs. Kings; No Bad Ju Ju at Baja Bar and Grill (Fri., 12/16/16)

1) The Pens are playing a home game at PPG Paints Arena tonight against the Los Angeles Kings. The puck drops at 7 p.m. Then tomorrow is an away game against the Toronto Maple Leafs before the Penguins return home for a Tuesday game against the Rangers.  The Pens are currently in first place, a half a game ahead of the New York Rangers in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference. Let’s go Pens! 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

2) No Bad JuJu is an energetic eight-piece band that calls Pittsburgh home. It’s made up of veterans from all corners of the musical landscape, though most are either Pittsburgh born or educated. Vocalist Sabrina de Matteo has been performing in Pittsburgh since she sang with salsa bands in night clubs when she was 16; she’s gained acclaim for her stage work, winning the Gene Kelley Award for playing Timone in Once on This Island. Band cofounder and lead guitarist Mark Matteo has worked as a session musician with the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and ‘N Sync; he’s written and recorded music for movies, TV shows, and commercials and performed live with Bo Diddley and Peter Noone. There isn’t room to recount the accomplishments of all eight members here, so be sure to visit their site for more info. NBJJ will rock Baja Bar and Grill at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club beginning at 9 p.m. 1366 Old Freeport Rd., O’Hara Township.

3) Good Fridays at the Warhol is a weekly party at the museum, featuring art exhibits, music, and cocktails in the high temple to Andy Warhol’s numerous talents. Half-price museum admission. 5 – 10 p.m. 117 Sandusky St., North Shore.
