Gaffigan and Conan O’Brien have teamed up on an animated crime fighting short called “Pale Force” that appeared on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and led to Broadband Emmy and Webby nominations. 7 p.m. Benedum Center, Downtown.

1) The Pirates are seeking revenge for recent bombardments from the L.A Dodgers. They are squaring up the Pirate ship and preparing to open the gun port doors. Hopefully, the Pirates’ gunpowder will ignite and blast the Dodgers back to the West Coast. 1. Def Leppard‘s “Rock of Ages” tour continues as the internationally famous heavy metal band performs tonight at First Niagara Pavilion. 1) We lost a good man on Monday with the passing of  Marvin Hamlisch. Hamlisch was a singular sensation. He won many awards in several different categories. Grammy, Emmy, Oscar, Tony, Pulitzer were all in his trophy case! We were lucky to have his great personality and magnificent talent here in Pittsburgh as the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s Pops conductor. As a suggested tribute to Hamlisch, go out and see a play, enjoy a concert or make a donation to your favorite arts organization.

1) The Pittsburgh Steelers take on cross-state rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles tonight. The smell of football is in the air, even if it’s only pre-season. Area sports bar deep fryers are heating up in anticipation of all the chicken wings they will crisp and brown later on tonight. At one point during World War II, the Steelers and Eagles merged due to a lack of players. They were officially called the “Phil-Pitt Combine.” However unofficially they were known as the Steagles. 7:30 p.m.
