Over 125 musicians, plus 16 venues and numerous artists and food trucks, make for a unique, successful third annual Deutschtown Music Festival. The first sunny day in memory adds the final touch.
The Deutschtown Music Festival may raise questions among those from outside the North Side, the biggest of which will arguably be: Pittsburgh has a Deutschtown? Yep, also known as East Allegheny, Deutschtown is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh’s North Side, located just east of the Children’s Museum and the Allegheny Commons Park. One of its busiest streets, East Ohio, is home to some lively bars and restaurants, many of which will serve as venues for the festival.

It’s time again for the Thunderbird Cafe’s grab bag of local music, A 3Band Night. On the bill are the Paul Labrise Trio, Trout Season, and, of course, the perpetual performer at this event, honky tonk hero Slim Forsythe and his Big Band. 9 p.m. 4023 Butler St. Lawrenceville.
