Hurricane Warning: Pitt vs. Miami at Heinz Field; Billy Price at Club Cafe (Fri., 11/24/17)

1) The Pitt Panthers football team, fresh off of a heart-breaking last second loss at Virginia Tech try to reload for their game against the no. 2 ranked Miami Hurricanes. Let’s hope to end this disappointing season with a Pitt victory. Get down there and burn off Thanksgiving calories by cheering for the Panthers. Kickoff is at noon. Heinz Field, 100 Art Rooney Ave., North Shore.

2) Soul man Billy Price is performing an early show at Club Cafe with his band. Price has been a fixture on the Pittsburgh R&B scene since the early ’70s, first as frontman for the Shadyside-based Rhythm Kings and as a singer for noted national guitarist Roy Buchanan. Next he formed the Keystone Rhythm Band, which was one of the hottest bands in the Pittsburgh region for over 13 years. After that Price went on to achieve success as a solo artist and with The Billy Price Band, his current group. The group is composed of Steve Delach (guitar), Tom Valentine (bass), Dave Dodd (drums), Jimmy Britton (keyboards), and Eric DeFade (tenor sax). Price (and band) released the noted album This Time For Real with the late, great Otis Clay in 2015. Alive and Strange, recorded live at Club Cafe, was released earlier this year. 9 p.m. No cover. 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side.
