5 Seconds of Summer in Concert at PPG Paints Arena; Phipps Hosts La Fleur Flowers, Fashion, and Culture (Thursday, 6/11/26)

1) The Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer will be hitting PPG Paints Arena on their Pittsburgh tour stop. Their name reportedly doesn’t have any deep meaning, but maybe it alludes to how the wonderful season of summer moves much too quickly. 5 Seconds of Summer has garnered much success since forming in Sydney in 2011. They started out as YouTube celebrities and then got on people’s radars when they opened for One Direction. 5 Seconds of Summer’s latest record, Everyone’s A Star!, was released last year with the single “Not OK” preceding it. The album reached no. 1 on the Australian and U.K. Billboard album charts. and no. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S. Special guest is The Band Camino. 8 p.m. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown. (R.H.)

2) Pittsburgh Earth Day and its media outlet, The Green Voice, and Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will create the second annual La Fleur fashion, art, dance, music, and plant forward food. event at Phipps. Set against the incredible backdrop of Phipps’ Summer Flower Show, “This year’s theme is Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and will transform Phipps Conservatory into a whimsical, multi-sensory celebration featuring live music, floral fashion, dance, art and a plant-forward culinary experience.” La Fleur is presented by Dollar Bank and happening on Thursday, June 11. Performances will be held in iconic
display rooms such as Palm Court, Broderie Room, South Conservatory, and more.

The entertainment lineup includes Cello Fury String Quartet Trio, Gypsy Stringz, accordionist Joe Lege, Confluence Ballet, and DJ SMI, Additionally there will be fashion displays by Michael Kouri, Lana Neumeyer, Patricia Gallagher, Patti Fowler, Suz Pisano and Virginia Nicoll. Live floral fashion draping by Brian David. Meet and greet with local artists Claire Hardy, Elizabeth Sickles, and Peggie Habets. Food offerings by Chef Kate Romane from Black Radish Kitchen and Lucky Sign Spirits branded signature cocktails. All against the backdrop of the Phipps’ Summer Flower Show.

One can attend with VIP Admission ($175): Includes event access, welcome champagne, two signature cocktails, French-inspired appetizers, and and petits plates; or General Admission ($125): Includes full event access and plant-forward, French-inspired appetizers.
