CLO kicks off 75th Season with ‘Wizard of Oz’; Bill Toms Plays Rivers Casino; Moe’s Southwest Brewery Tour (Sat., 7/10/21)

1)The Pittsburgh CLO begins its Summer Under the Stars season with an outdoor production of The Wizard of Oz at Heinz Field. Local acting powerhouse Drew Leigh Williams plays Zeke/Lion. Dorothy Gale is portrayed by Jessica Grove. The production runs July 8 – 10. 1 and 8:30 p.m. today. Next up in the summer series is Pittsburgh CLO’s 75th Anniversary: A Broadway Musical Celebration. 100 Art Rooney Way, North Shore.

2) Bill Toms and Hard Rain with the Soulville Horns will be rockin’ out Rivers Casino Drum Bar this evening. Toms recently released a new album, Keep Movin’ On. See our story on the making of the album. Toms’ slightly raspy, deeply soulful voice and his guitar playing prowess combine with the drums, horns, and rest of the band to create a hot rock sound. 9 p.m. 777 Casino Dr., North Shore.

3) 2020 and 2021 have been very tough years for the hospitality industry. Moe’s Southwest Grill‘s local owner, Mike Geiger, appreciates the support his business has received from the communities they have locations in. As a way of repaying the public, Geiger, in collaboration with Easy Street Promotions, has created the Thank You Pittsburgh Brewery Tour with six stops over the next several months at local breweries with free Moe’s food and live music. Tonight’s stop is at Helltown Brewing in Export with Byron Nash performing. 5578 Old William Penn Hwy.
