1) Walnut Street in Shadyside will be transformed into an open-air art gallery this weekend replete with paintings, photography, pottery, sculpture, jewelry and much more. It’s all part of the 15th Annual Shadyside…The Art Festival on Walnut Street.  Hours today are 10 a.m to 9 p.m. Free.

2) Sabbath Judas Sabbath, a tribute band for the bands Black Sabbath and Judas Priest, are rockin’ out Altar Bar. 9 p.m. 1620 Penn Avenue, Strip District.

3) Fireworks Alert!!! It’s Zambelli Fireworks Night at PNC Park right after the Pirates beat (hopefully) the Milwaukee Brewers. 7:05 p.m.

4) Rock and blues musician Gil Snyder (who originally played keyboards for Joe Grushecky & the Iron City Houserockers) plays the Town Center Stage (near Starbucks) at the Waterfront. 6-8 p.m., Homestead. Free.

5)) The 30th Annual Run Around the Square (Regent Square) is happening today, now the largest neighborhood footrace in Pittsburgh. It’s a fun event for runners and spectators alike. The running component features a 1.5 mile Fun Run/Walk (8:15 a.m.) and a 5k run (9:00 a.m). Both running events are now at full capacity and closed for additional participants. There will be an awards ceremony and entertainment following the race in the Fern Hollow section of Frick Park. Free.
