1) Nineties hard rock/metal band, Tesla, are bringing their power chords and soaring vocals to Stage AE. Their best songs include: What You Give, Signs, Hang Tough, Modern Day Cowboy, Love Song. 6:30 p.m.

2) The Pirates meet up again with the L.A. Dodgers at PNC Park. 7:05 p.m.

3) The Steelers are holding an open practice today in preparation for Sunday night’s game against the Indy Colts. 3 p.m. Saint Vincent College, Latrobe. Free.

4) Citipark’s Cinema in the Park presented by Dollar Bank is showing the flick Super 8 (PG-13). Super 8 was shot in Weirton, WV in 2010. Super 8 was written and directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by the legendary Steven Spielberg. Movie starts at dusk, pre-show concert, 7 p.m. Flagstaff Hill, Schenley Park. Free.

5) Ivanov, a play by Anton Chekhov described as a “comic Hamlet,” is one of the current productions running as part of the Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre’s Chekhov Celebration. This is a new English version by Tom Stoppard, revolving around Ivanov, a Russian man who’s in some very tough situations and trying to make sense of his difficulties. 8 p.m. Charity Randall Theatre at Stephen Foster Memorial, Pitt.
