Cool Picks brings you the best in Pittsburgh entertainment every day!

1) Craig Ferguson, host of CBS TV’s Emmy-nominated “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” is following up a 2010 sold- out performance at Greensburg’s Palace Theatre with another appearance tonight.  The comedian, author and actor takes the stage at 8 p.m. No word on whether his robot sidekick Jeffrey, from “The Late Late Show..” will be joining him. 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.

2) Spend your evening at The Smiling Moose. Start off with Happy Hour (5-7 p.m.), then a performance by Brothers of Brazil, who play a unique mix of Brazilian music and rock (6 p.m.); then stick around for Rock Star Karaoke (10 p.m.) with specials on “Captain” drinks and Victory brews. 1306 E. Carson St., South Side.

3) Just up Carson Street a little is Club Cafe, where tonight two raucous, noisy, post-industrial rock bands–Cadaver Dogs & Wilson (no, this isn’t Wilson-Phillips) plan to throw down and party.  With special guests, 8 p.m. 56-58 South 12th St., South Side.

4) Another movie that was shot in Pittsburgh is now on area movie screens. “Won’t Back Down ” is the story of two very different but determined women and mothers, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis, who fight entrenched bureaucracies to make their inner city school  a better place, that ensures a more solid foundation for the future of their children.  The movie also stars veteran actress (and CMU grad) Holly Hunter.
