Callan CD Release Party at Club Cafe; Pens vs. Devils (CPs Fri., 12/13/13)

1) Callan, a Pittsburgh-based quintet whose name means “ruckus” in Gaelic, creates a unique sound that breathes new life into traditional Celtic music. They’ve also created their own contemporary compositions and will host a party tonight for the release of their latest CD. Come and join the ruckus at 7 p.m. at Club Café with special guests Sue Powers and Burr Beard. 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side.

2) Watch out, the Devils are loose in Pittsburgh tonight; actually it’s the New Jersey Devils. They’re in town for a classic good (our Pens) vs. evil (the Devils) face off. 7 p.m. Consol Energy Center, 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

3) Jimbo & the Soupbones are rocking at Moondog’s tonight in Blawnox. Get out on the dance beginning at 9 p.m. 378 Freeport Rd.

3) Good Fridays at the Warhol is a weekly party at the museum, featuring art exhibits, music, and cocktails in the high temple to Andy Warhol’s numerous talents. Half-price museum admission. 5 – 10 p.m. 117 Sandusky St., North Shore.
