Parker Quartet in Concert at Carnegie Music Hall; Bird Battle in the ‘Burgh (CPs Mon., 11/18/13)

1) Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society presents the Parker Quartet in concert at Carnegie Music Hall. The Grammy Award-winning quartet, described as “something extraordinary” by the New York Times, will play works by Mendelssohn, Schulhoff, and Shostakovich. 7:30 p.m. 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland.

2) There will be a bird fight in the ‘Burgh tonight with our scrappy Pens taking on the Ducks of Anaheim. You can watch the feathers fly and see who will rule the Penguins’ roost (Consol Energy Center). 7:30 p.m. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

3) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays continues tonight with Salsamba featuring George Jones. 6 – 10 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.

4) The Balcony Big Band is hitting only high notes in a Monday night performance at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. 8 p.m. No cover. 103 Slade Ln., Warrendale.
