Michael Nesmith in Concert (CP’s Tues. 4/9/13)

1) Singer/songwriter/guitarist Michael Nesmith who has a distinctive pedigree as a member of the 1960’s pop group–The Monkees, an early contributor to MTV and producer for films like Repo Man, is in concert tonight. 7:30 p.m. Carnegie Library Music Hall, 510 E. 10th St., Munhall.

2) The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents Kenny Garrett, one of the nation’s best jazz saxophonists. He has performed with many jazz greats including Art Blakely, The Jazz Messengers and Miles Davis. The Kenny Garrett Quintet takes the Cabaret at Theater Square stage at 8 p.m. 655 Penn Ave., Cultural District.

3) Jevon Rushton, a dynamic rising-star drummer who’s ascended under the teaching of top Pittsburgh drummer Roger Humphries, plays the Backstage Bar at Theater Square as part of the BNY Mellon Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s “JazzLive” series. 5 – 7 p.m. No cover. 655 Penn Ave, Cultural District.

4) It’s not just Tuesday it’s Bourbon Brewsday at Bloomfield’s Brillobox. Enjoy bourbon shot specials, $4 bourbon punch, $3 craft brew cans and $5 hot toddy/mulled wine. To soak up the specials,there’s — $5 roasted pork belly or $5 veggie chili.  5 p.m. – 2 a.m. 4104 Penn Ave.
