Blackhawks vs. Pens; Ketel One Wednesday at Olive or Twist (CPs Wed., 1/21/15)

1) Our feisty flightless birds—the Penguins—will put on the pads and line up against the Chicago Blackhawks in a 8 p.m. game at the Consol Energy Center. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

2) Cure your mid-week blues with Ketel One Wednesdays at Olive or Twist in the heart of the Cultural District. Named one of Pittsburgh’s best restaurants for cocktails the past three years, Olive or Twist has a martini bar that is a perfect place to wind down for Happy Hour, dinner before a show, or a post-performance nightcap. You can enjoy Ketel One tonight with $7 cocktails, dirty martinis, and regular martinis. Get there early for Happy Hour, 4 – 6  p.m., when it’s $1 off all draft beers, $5 for a glass of Chardonnay or Cabernet, and $2 off specialty martinis. There’s also half-price Buffalo Chicken Spread and Truffle Fries. Sounds like a fun and inexpensive outing. 140 6th St., Downtown.

3) The Wedding RingerPoor Josh Gad, a nice but nerdy sort of guy. He’s getting married in a few months but doesn’t have a best man to stand up with him. But here comes Kevin Hart to save the day, the owner of a company that provides best men for men in that exact situation. The movie is set in Los Angeles, after all—surely the one place where buying a best friend is not only done openly but also competitively. Can Hart and Gad keep up the pretense until the wedding day? I twist with anticipation. Check Fandango for times at your favorite theater.
