Vienna Boys Choir Performs at Palace (CP’s Wed. 3/13/13)

1) A beautiful sound will be heard tonight as the world-famous Vienna Boys Choir performs in concert at the Palace Theatre. One of four equally comprised touring choirs from Vienna, Austria, each choir is named for an Austrian composing great. Bruckner, Haydn, Mozart and Schubert. The Vienna Boys Choir sings many of the famous composers music. 7:30 p.m. 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.

2) Thurgood continues its run at the Pittsburgh Public  Theater. Written by George Stevens, Jr., the play is based on the inspirational life of Thurgood Marshall, the nations first African-American Supreme Court Justice . It begins with his Baltimore upbringing and work as a waiter and continues  through his relationships with General MacArthur, Robert Kennedy and President Lyndon Johnson and his subsequent appointment  to the country’s top court. An uplifting performance about a remarkable person. Written by George Stevens, Jr. 8 p.m.  Runs through April 7. O’Reilly Theater. 621 Penn Ave., Cultural District.

3) New York rapper ASAP Rocky will perform with Taylor Gang’s Chevy Woods at Stage AE. Doors 7 p.m.. 400 North Shore Dr., North Shore.

4) It’s country music night at Peter’s Pub in Oakland with DJ JB. There’s also some interesting specials: $5.50 fish bowls, $7.50 Smirnoff fish bowls 10 p.m. – Midnight and $2 Yuengling bottles 10 p.m. – midnight; $5.50 Bud Lt. pitchers 7 p.m. – close and $5 sandwiches 5 – 10 p.m. 116 Oakland Ave.
