Craig Ferguson Plays Carnegie of Homestead; Spirit Has Parquet Courts (Fri., 11/30/18)

1) Craig Ferguson, former host of CBS TV’s Emmy-nominated “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” and of the syndicated show “Celebrity Name Game,” plays CHMH tonight. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Ferguson is additionally known for his work as an actor (Drew Carey’s boss on “The Drew Carey Show“) and author. Most recently Ferguson has supplied the voice for Gobber in the How to Train Your Dragon movies and contributed voice acting to several other films too. He takes the stage at tonight at Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall. (No word on whether his former robot sidekick Geoff from “The Late Late Show” will be there.) 8 p.m. 510 E. 10th St., Munhall.

2) New-York-City rockers Parquet Courts are on a hot streak. Their latest acclaimed release is this year’s Wide Awake! Songs like “Total Football” combine inviting guitar chords with Devo-style vocals. They will perform at Spirit. 8 p.m. 242 51st St., Lawrenceville. (CM)
