Fourth of July Fun: The Point, Heinz Field, Rivers Casino, Baja Bar and Grill (Wed., 7/4/17)

 

1) The EQT Flashes of Freedom Celebrate America Event at Point State Park is free, and begins at noon with live entertainment, food vendors, historical demonstrations, and kids activities. Entertainment highlights include:  Kardasz Brothers (noon), The Dorals (1:30 p.m.), Jimbo and the Soup Bones (3 p.m.), Jeff Jimerson & Airborne (4:30 p.m.), The Delaney’s (6:30 p.m.), Air National Guard Band of the Northeast (8 p.m.).  Oh, and there’s one of the best fireworks displays in the nation at 9:35 p.m.

2) There’s also a Fourth of July Celebration at Heinz Field sponsored by Miler Lite. Highlights include food tents, Miller beer stands, Steeler’s mascot Steely McBeam, Elements of the Steelers Experience, and the FedEx Great Hall will be open with Steelers memorabilia and the Hall of Fame Lockers, and other games and family activities. The entertainment lineup is composed of Tim Litvin, The Stickers, then The Cadillac Three will take the stage at approximately 8 p.m. Event starts at 2 p.m. and concludes after the fireworks. 100 Art Rooney Ave., North Shore.

3) At Rivers Casino today there’s another great Pittsburgh music lineup for their Free Summer Concert Series with No Bad Juju and Chris Jamison.  Concert is riverside and starts at 7 p.m. After the bands and the fireworks you can head inside and try your luck. 777 Casino Dr., North Shore.

4) The Baja Bar and Grill’s outdoor deck and Tiki bar are open for dining, drinking, and dancing with live bands and DJs. Today’s performer is The Flow Band. 2 p.m. 1366 Old Freeport Rd., Fox Chapel Yacht Club, Fox Chapel.
