Indigo Girls Perform at Hartwood Acres; Baja Bar and Grill Hosts Nied’s Hotel Band (Sun., 6/27/21)

1) The acoustic singer songwriting team of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray, better known as the Indigo Girls, is in concert tonight as part of the Allegheny County Summer Concert Series at Hartwood Acres. Saliers’ style is a softer, more complex Joni Mitchell sound, while Ray’s is more drawn from punk rock influences like the Pretenders and the Jam. Together they’ve combined for a nice musical synergy extending over several decades. Their latest album is Look Long. 7:30 p.m. 200 Hartwood acres, Hampton and Indiana Townships.

2) Nied’s Hotel Band brings the afternoon jam to Baja Bar & Grill’s outdoor poolside Tiki Hut. One of the best bar bands in the ‘Burgh, the group performs rock-n-roll and R&B tunes. 2 to 6 p.m. 1366 Old Freeport Rd., O’Hara Township.
