Jake Shimabukuro Plays The Oaks; Pittsburgh International Auto Show Continues at DLLCC (Mon., 2/17/20)

1) Jake Shimabukuro went viral when someone posted a video of him performing a cover of the Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” on the ukulele. He’s released numerous albums since, collaborated with musicians like Yo-Yo Ma and Jimmy Buffett, and toured the world. As for that video, it’s still racking up views—16 million and counting. His albums are a mix of originals and covers with a Hawaiian sensibility coloring all of them. His album with Nolan Verner and Dave Preston, titled Trio, will be released in February. See him live at The Oaks Theater. 8 p.m. 310 Allegheny River Blvd., Oakmont. (CM)

2) The Pittsburgh International Auto Show is going on at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Whether you’re looking for a hot rod, family sedan, or green machine, this is an opportunity to try your “fave” on for size. Experience vehicles from all the major auto companies. Additionally enjoy classic, custom, and concept car displays. There will also be music and local celebrities. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Ends today. 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd., Downtown.
