Kip Moore in Concert at Roxian Theatre; David L. Lawrence Convention Center Hosts Handmade Arcade (Sat., 12/6/25)
1) Country music artist Kip Moore is known for good old down-home beats and for featuring attractive young women in his videos. If you were to object that this doesn’t narrow down the field very much, the answer would be: Yeah, but he really does it. Moore scored a number 1 on the Billboard country chart with his 2011 single “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck,” although he has never disclosed exactly what it is about a truck—perhaps the engine, the transmission, the gestalt of a truck?—and if you watch and listen, the song actually seems to be about somethin’ other than a truck. Moore is a NASCAR fan. He plays pre-race concerts; he once was Grand Marshal of the Dixie Vodka 400, and he also surfs. In Hawaii, not online; he reportedly abhors social media. Kip Moore is touring in support of his sixth studio album, this year’s Solitary Tracks, and his concert at the Roxian Theatre is almost officially sold out, so you know what to do. Guest artist is Caylee Hammack. Doors at 7 p.m., music 8 p.m. 425 Chartiers Ave., McKees Rocks. (M.V.)
2) The Handmade Arcade is like the mall, except that every seller is unique and unpredictable instead of the opposite. The annual craft fair has brought clothiers, printmakers, bookbinders, housewares creators, illustrators, stationery designers, knitters, toy smiths, bath product inventors and other artisans under one roof. Live glass blowing demonstrations, free grab-and-go craft kits, and more will be offered. This year, more than 150 vendors will be on hand, organized into seemingly endless rows in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The In Person Holiday Market is where people who pretend they’re too cool for Christmas shopping actually do their Christmas shopping. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free, but attendees must sign up for timed tickets. There’s also a virtual catalog. 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd., Cultural District. (E.C. R.H.)
