Laura Benanti Performs in Cultural Trusts ‘Women of Broadway’ Virtual Series (Sat., 11/14/20)

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust continues its new virtual entertainment series, “Live from the West Side: Women of Broadway,” with a performance by Laura Benanti. It will feature a mix of Broadway showtunes, pop songs, and personal stories from her life. Benanti has been nominated for major theater awards including for her performances in Into the Woods, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, She Loves Me, and others. In 2008 she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role as Louise in Gypsy. Benanti also played twin sisters on the TV show “Supergirl” and had a recurring role as a First Lady Melania Trump impersonator on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Benanti released a self-titled album this year, it’s her first solo effort. The three show series opened with Patti LuPone and will end on December 5 with Vanessa Williams. For tickets and more info visit the Trust’s website. 8 p.m.
