A former Moose Lodge is now one of the best new restaurants/bars in Pittsburgh. Mastic Trail Brewing, a Caribbean-themed brewpub, opened this July in Glenshaw at the former Moose Lodge 46. Its name refers to a trail on the Grand Cayman Island, part of the larger Cayman Islands, which are beloved by founder and owner Ben Williams. The menu includes craft beer, tropical cocktails, and Caribbean food, such as succulent roasted jerk chicken and the hefty Cubano sandwich. The decor is also tropical, particularly the Ocean Room, with its maritime floor and pool tables. Entertainment includes live music Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Past acts include the Flow Band and the Juan Vasquez Project. Follow the Mastic Trail. Bring your family. Bring your dogs (if sitting outside). Most importantly, bring your appetite, and perhaps get a crowler to go. 1044 Saxonburg Blvd., Glenshaw. (CM)
