Morgan Wallen w/ Ella Langley in Night 2 of Acrisure; Pittsburgh Brewing Rockin’ Regatta Starts; Pride Festival Begins (Sat., 6/6/26)

1) Morgan Wallen, toting his rep as a bad boy with good sounds, comes to Pittsburgh on his Still the Problem Tour. Indubitably one of country music’s biggest stars, Wallen seems to have perfected the art of getting in just enough trouble to maintain a bad-boy image while not pushing it so far that he’s really screwed. (Throwing a chair off the roof of a bar? No big deal; it’s something any of us might do. Except the chair nearly hit two police officers below, who weren’t happy ,,, and there’s an example of Morgan Wallen trouble.) Most recently Wallen has smashed a piano on stage. His latest album is last year’s chart-topper I’m the Problem. But in the lyrics of the title track, here again, Wallen is walking that fine line. He doesn’t admit he’s the culprit in a crazy relationship. Instead he asks the woman: “If I’m so awful, then why’d you stick around so long?” And so it is with Wallen’s fans. They keep coming back. So many that on this visit, Wallen is booked for a two-night stand at Acrisure Stadium. 

Among the guest artists for the two concerts, a standout is Ella Langley on June 6.  She leads with her heart. Langley also leads with her music, as in the international number one hit “Choosin’ Texas.” Gavin Adcock and Zach John King open. Showtime is 5:30 p.m. 100 Art Rooney Ave., North Side. (R.H., M.V.)

Rockin’ Regatta at Pittsburgh Brewing Company June 6 — 7

2) The saying in Pittsburgh used to be “You gotta regatta!” Unfortunately the saying died out with the last run of the Pittsburgh Regatta in 2018 due to financial conditions.  However Pittsburgh Brewing Company, purveyors of fine locally-made craft beers and other adult beverages, who are also making a wave in the entertainment and event business, have recognized a void in the Pittsburgh area for a similar event. They have produced, and will host, the second annual Rockin’ Regatta: A Thrilling Weekend of Powerboat Racing and Live Music! at their headquarters on the river in Creighton on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7.

Rockin’ Regatta features powerboat races from Three Rivers Outboard Racing Association (TRORA), live music, food trucks, family fun, a cornhole tournament, petting zoo, rock wall climbing, balloon artist, and more. And of course, fresh craft beers and PBC summer sips. 150 Ferry St., Creighton. (R.H.)

3) Pittsburgh Pride Festival kicks off today with events and activities at Allegheny Commons Park. Entertainers for Saturday evening are Chrissy Chlapecka (5 p.m.) and EMM (6 p.m.). The celebration continues on Sunday with the Pride Parade (noon, Downtown) and more fun on the North Side at Allegheny Commons Park. Cain Culto performs at 6 p.m. Free.
