NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament Begins Today in the ‘Burgh; Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes “Havin’ A Party” at Jergel’s (CPs Thurs., 3/19/15)

1) Pittsburgh—through Duquesne University—is hosting the 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship Second/Third Rounds. Grab an up-close look at the action starting today as Villanova plays Lafayette, North Carolina State battles LSU, Notre Dame takes on Northeastern, and Texas battles Butler. 2) Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes are bringing their wall-of-sound to Jergel’s Rhythm Grille tonight. The band features a New Jersey rock sound complemented by a talented horn section. Southside Johnny’s first three albums were arranged and produced by the co-founder of the band and Bruce Springsteen associate Steven Van Zandt. The albums were mainly composed of songs written by Van Zandt and/or Springsteen. They are known for songs “Trapped Again,” “Without Love,” and “We’re Having A Party.” Norm Nardini opens. 8 p.m. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.

3) Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Oakland is offering free admission every Thursday evening in March thanks to The Jack Buncher Foundation. Enjoy exhibits about different cultures, animals, dinosaurs, minerals, nature and ancient Egypt, etc. 4 – 8 p.m. 4400 Forbes Ave.
