Panthers vs. Penguins; Starving Artist Sunday Supper at Brillobox (CPs Sun., 2/22/15)

1) No this isn’t some type of weird Everglades death match like a gator versus a python—but it is a serious game in the NHL, as our our Penguins take on the Florida Panthers tonight at Consol Energy Center. It promises to be a fin to paw battle. Let’s hope that the Penguins escape the battle against the Panthers with a big win. Isn’t nature (and hockey) grand! 6 p.m. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

2) Hearty Sunday dinners aren’t just for the meat eaters or the financially comfortable. Grab some friends and head over to Brillobox for the Starving Artist Sunday Suppers. Every Sunday, the restaurant’s chef creates a different hearty vegetarian meal and offers it for just $7 to give you a break from your regularly scheduled ramen du jour. You’ll want to get there early, as the special only goes until the food runs out (and at that price, it will). 5 p.m. 4104 Penn Ave., Bloomfield.

3) The DUFF — The title stands for “Designated Ugly Fat Friend” and the movie’s about a high school student, Bianca, who finds out she’s been labeled a DUFF and decides to fight back. Since this is a Hollywood flick, even the actors playing the “ugly” kids are beautiful—you probably haven’t heard of any of them, but Allison Janney shows up in a supporting role, so there is that. Check Fandango for screens and times at the local megaplex.
