Patton Oswalt Plays Carnegie of Homestead; Kevin Nealon in First of Two Nights at Pittsburgh Winery; Juneteenth Festivities Begin (Fri., 6/19/26)

1) Patton Oswalt’s first acting gig was a small role in a big TV series. He played a video store clerk in an episode of “Seinfeld” who wouldn’t let George see who rented a movie that he needed to watch. Many more people came to know him as Spencer Olchin, a friend of lead actor Kevin James, in the CBS sitcom “The King of Queens.” Oswalt also narrated the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs as the adult Adam F. Goldberg. He’s even had six stand-up comedy specials and won a Grammy Award for his Netflix special, “Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping.” In 2020, Oswalt’s Emmy nominated Netflix special “I Love Everything” received wide acclaim, and he received a Grammy nomination for his comedy album of the same name. Now he’s coming to our fair town and will be performing stand-up comedy at the Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall. 8 p.m. 510 E. 10th Ave., Munhall.

2) Comedian Kevin Nealon brings his stand-up act to the Pittsburgh Winery tonight. He is best known for his nine-year stint as a cast member on NBC’s  long-running comedy show “Saturday Night Live,” where he was in the coveted Weekend Update anchor spot and portrayed one half (Franz) of the dynamic duo of Pumping Up with Hans & Franz. Nealon won critical praise for his role as Doug Wilson, an outrageous character who always seems to land on his feet in the Showtime TV series “Weeds.”

Comedian and film star Kevin Nealon will have people laughing in the aisles this weekend at Pittsburgh Winery.

He has also teamed up with former “SNL” cast member Adam Sandler to work on several movies, including Blended, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, Anger Management, and You Don’t Mess With the Zohan. Nealon’s comedy style is often understated, like eating a spicy hot dish—you may not feel the burn right away, then it hits you full force. Another big success was his starring role on the CBS sitcom, “Man With a Plan.” He currently produces and hosts his digital series “Hiking with Kevin.” 8 p.m. tonight; 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday. 2809 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3) Juneteenth celebrates a great occasion, it marks the historic occasion that the news that slavery had finally ended reached slaves in Texas after the Civil War had ended in 1865. The WPA Juneteenth & Black Music Festival is produced by Pittsburgher B Marshall of the Stop the Violence. It is reportedly the largest Juneteenth Celebration in the nation. Several of the hallmarks of this festival are top-notch soul and hip-hop acts, African American cultural events, fun activities, and vendors who are Black owned businesses. There are two performance areas, one is at Point State Park and the other in Market Square Both stages feature popular musical talent with the Market Square Stage having more national talent such as: Final Draft (tonight 8 p.m.), Keith Washington (tomorrow 8 p.m.), and Evelyn Champagne King (Sunday 8 p.m.). Additionally, there’s a Grand Jubilee Parade Downtown Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
