RealTime Art’s Ukrainian Folktale Series and Dinner at St. Peter & St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Thurs., 11/13/25)
RealTime’s Ukrainian Folktale Series is continuing. Audiences have been eager to hear stories told by the best Pittsburgh actors, supported by music adapted for the series by Ukrainian musical duo The Ceramic Knives (Oleksandr + Mari Frazé-Frazénko).
This last one is a little different. They’ve shifted the location to Carnegie’s St. Peter & St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who are not only providing the venue, but also serving the audience a traditional Ukrainian meal before the performance.
There will be several guests of honor: Ukrainian veterans of the current conflict, who are being hosted in town by their partners at DTCare. Their responses to the stories told this evening will be worked into the performance, and they will participate in group discussions centered on this project. Audience members who choose to participate will have their thoughts and ideas folded into the larger project, an original musical play premiering next year, informed by conversations between Ukrainian and U.S. combat veterans as well as Pittsburghers who have attended this year’s events. Tickets include dinner, performance and a post-performance discussion. For tickets and more information visit RealTime Arts website. 6 to 9 p.m. 220 Mansfield Blvd, Carnegie.
