The Hangar a Good Landing Spot for Food and Fun; Bea Taco Town Offers Variety of Tacos and Burritos (Tues., 10/2/18)

1) Is there a better name for a restaurant near an airport than The Hangar? Whether you are a Moon resident, Robert Morris student, or a passenger soon to depart or arrive from Pittsburgh International, The Hangar is a top spot to park and refuel. The restaurant prides itself on its wings and freshly fried fish. Plenty of other food is on the full menu, some of it aeronautically themed (The “B-52” Dog, The Hangar Burger), others not but equally delicious (Ultimate Nachos, Hot Roast Beef). Enjoy a meal or drink while watching local sports teams on one of 13 50-inch flat screens. Mondays at 8 p.m. are Steel City Poker nights. Tuesdays are $5 Captain and Coke pitchers, all-you-can-eat wings, and Pittsburgh Bar Trivia at 8 p.m. The Hangar also hosts live music, dance parties, and the occasional comedy night. 500 Flaugherty Run Rd., Moon Township. (CM)

2) In the South Hills, great Mexican food can be found in several neighborhoods.  Now Banksville has its own spot for authentic, reasonably priced Mexican food: Bea Taco Town. Taco Town offers a sit-down restaurant, where patrons can leisurely munch on chips and salsa while sipping Jarritos (Mexican pop) before ordering their entreés. Customers can order traditional tacos or Americano tacos, the latter of which come with one’s choice of meat plus lettuce, tomatoes, onions, sour cream, and cheese. Burritos and enchiladas grace the menu, and there are plenty of meat and vegetarian options. Taco Town additionally has two downtown locations, both on Smithfield Street. The menus between the downtown and Banksville locations differ slightly, so be sure to check their website. 2957 Banksville Rd., Banksville. (CM)
