Only the third mystery Agatha Christie wrote with Hercule Poirot as her bombastic Belgium detective, the story includes all of the characters that mystery lovers like to suspect. A lost lover, a wealthy widower, a benevolent butler, parlor maids, poison, blackmail, and improbable alibis confound and confuse the most discerning theatre-goer. Even better, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd offers a famous plot twist unrivaled by any Christie play since her works were first adapted for the West End stage in 1928.

For Pittsburgh, the mystery intensifies with a cast of inordinate talent. Featuring Helena Ruoti, David Whalen, Sheila McKenna, Christopher Kelly, and Simon Bradbury (among other—shhhh!—surprise performers,) The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is directed by Andrew Paul. 7:30 p.m. Carnegie Stage, 25 W.
