Yetter’s Candy: A Millvale Landmark for Candy, Ice Cream, and Lunch (Thurs., 6/25/20)

Yetter’s Candy in Millvale opened in 1950 and has used the same chocolate recipe ever since to much success. Customer favorites include the chocolate-covered cherries and chocolate-covered nut clusters. The high quality ice cream is from Ashby Sterling in Michigan. Patrons can enjoy some scoops, milkshakes, or ice cream sodas at the retro soda fountain. (For now, get it to go.) Yetter’s doesn’t sell only sweets. Just ran out of an essential? Visit Yetter’s for bread, eggs, or milk. It also sells deli meats and cheeses. On the lunch menu, sandwich options range from turkey breast to peanut butter and jelly, all of it reasonably priced. Sides include different soups, ravioli, chili con carne, and chicken salad. And to drink: hot chocolate, coffee, and tea. Yetter’s is a second-generation family business in the heart of one of the region’s many happening neighborhoods. Visit in-person or call to order some candy. 504 Grant Ave., Millvale. (CM)
