EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta Kicks Off; Indians vs. Bucs (Fri., 7/3/15)

1) America’s largest inland regatta, the 2015 EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta, kicks off today along the banks of and on the Allegheny River near Point State Park. Today’s attractions include Dragon Boat races, powerboat exhibits, jet ski stunts, Frisbee Dogs, sand sculptures, the Wheel of Lights, concessions and vendors, fireworks, food, bands, Cool Off Kid’s Zone and more. Brett Eldridge, winner of the 2014 CMA New Artist of the Year Award with three consecutive number one hits including “Mean to Me,” “Don’t Ya,” and “Beat of the Music.” plays an 8 p.m. show. Hours are noon to 10 p.m. Free. Runs through July 5. Point State Park, Downtown. Boating events have been canceled due to unsafe river conditions.

2) Our battlin’ Bucs take on the Cleveland Indians tonight in a 7:05 p.m. game. It’s also Free Shirt Friday, with the first 20,000 fans receiving a Pirates T-shirt. Tailgate before the game at the Friday Night Block Party featuring live entertainment, food and beer options, games and more. It’s not Steelers vs. Browns, but Pirates vs. Indians sounds like fun too. PNC Park, 115 Federal St.,  North Shore.

3) Unblurred: First Fridays on Penn features a variety of visual and performing arts at galleries, clubs, and restaurants along Penn Avenue (4800-5500) in the Garfield, Bloomfield, and Friendship neighborhoods. 6 p.m. – 2 a.m. Most events are free.
