It’s time once again for the fun annual event where fashion and environmentalism fuses for a hopeful look into the future. The Green Voice and Duquesne Light Company, in partnership with presenting sponsor Huntington Bank are producing the Ecolution Fashion Gala. It will happen June 25 in the spectacular setting of the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh. The gala highlights sustainability, innovation, and the vibrant spirit of creative design.

Ecolution fashion Show is the signature fashion event of Pittsburgh Earth Day and states, “Over the past ten years, designers have redefined eco-conscious fashion by crafting stunning couture pieces from recycled and repurposed materials. This year’s theme, L’ESPRIT D’INNOVATION, reflects a renewed focus on visionary design, environmental responsibility, and the fusion of art and advocacy. Produced by The Green Voice Collective, the runway show is curated by Brian David and styled by Izzazu Salon, Spa & Blowout Bar. The evening will feature more than 20 celebrated designers unveiling one-of-a-kind couture pieces created exclusively for this event.”

“This year marks the 10th anniversary of Pittsburgh Earth Day’s Ecolution Green Fashion Gala—an event that continues to shine a spotlight on Pittsburgh,” said Ronda Zegarelli, Founder of Pittsburgh Earth Day. “Our vision is to create a high-level, nationally recognized experience, much like the Met Gala, while staying true to our commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious best practices in art and fashion. What began with just 25 people in a hotel lobby has grown into a premier event welcoming
over 400 guests at the Carnegie Museum’s Hall of Sculpture and Music Hall Foyer.”

The evening contains several segments. The VIP reception, beginning at 6 p.m., features an exclusive, plant-forward culinary experience curated by Executive Chef Doug Genovese in the Hall of Architecture, featuring two complimentary cocktails crafted by Bacardi. At 7 p.m. standing-room-only guests will enjoy the runway experience and the evening’s program beginning at 8:00 PM. The Ecolution gala features eco-couture, visual artistry, and live performances. Including a fantastically creative runway show, a contemporary dance performance choreographed by Pearlann Porter, music by DJ Soy Sos, signature cocktails, and a strong positive vibe. Prior year’s fashions included a dress made out of pennies and a gown created from the recycled red velvet fabric of the refurbished seats of the venue’s Carnegie Music Hall. Who knows what will be seen on the runway this year. For a list of designers, more information, and tickets visit the Ecolution Fashion Show Web page.
