The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust wound its party clock back to the 1970s, ’80s, and ’90s for the PGH Rewind event. The bash was held at the Trust Arts Education Center on Liberty Avenue in the downtown Cultural District and offered three distinct floors of fun. On the third floor was the early evening VIP reception featuring Pittsburgh food favorites chipped ham sliders and pierogies. Other tasty offerings included egg rolls, burger sliders, hoagie slices, pasta, and desserts by Catering Outside the Box.. An array of top-shelf liquor, wine, and beer was flowing at the VIP bar as guests watched a show of talented divas in drag hosted by VyVyan Vyxn.

Regular admission attendees arrived at 9 p.m. and enjoyed donuts, cookies, candies, various popcorn selections, signature cocktails, beer, and wine. Partygoers could get colorful party designs applied to their face by a glam squad of makeup artists. There was also a photo booth, pinball and arcade games, and funky furniture. The fourth floor featured a ’90s club atmosphere with  music and corresponding music videos projected onto the walls of the room. On one wall guests could even play a projected video game. On the lower level in the ’80s room, colored Slinkys hung from the ceiling as DJ Jesley Snipes and DJ Selecta spun music from the decade. After 10 p.m., ’80s tribute band Ferris Bueller’s Revenge! played to a packed room as guests danced and partied.

The event was well planned and executed, as evidenced by the fun people were having. PGH Rewind was hosted by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Partners Board and this year’s summer event was co-chaired by Bethany Miller and Mark Cibulka. Event architect and technical production were provided by Flyspace Productions. All proceeds benefited the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s education outreach and free arts programming.
