A Fair in the Park

There’s nothing like a nice stroll in a lovely park, especially when there’s art, crafts, music, and food. These are some of the highlights for the Craftsmens Guild of Pittsburgh’s 48th Annual A Fair in the Park. Held each September in Shadyside’s Mellon Park, the weekend long event draws people from Pittsburgh and the region. Over 100 artisans came from near and far to display their creations. The weekend’s glorious weather added to attendee’s enjoyment of the fair.

The fair is set in the tranquil, sylvan setting of Mellon Park.

A young child is captivated by the hand-crafted art puzzles by Tony and June Burns of Peachie Originals. Each puzzle is made from a single piece of wood that is then cut into puzzle pieces with a scroll saw.

Arts and crafts weren't the only popular purchases at the event. People lined up to get their favorite festival foods from several food trucks and booths.
