Pittsburgh Blues and Roots Festival at Shrine Center; Carnegie Stage Hosts Three Rivers Revue Cabaret (Sat., 7/31/21)

1) The fourth annual Pittsburgh Blues and Roots Festival will take place today and tomorrow at the Syria Shrine Center Pavilion in Cheswick. The strong lineup of blues musicians includes headliners Joanna Connor (Saturday) and Anthony Gomes (Sunday). Also on the bill is Vanessa Collier band with Laura Chavez, Bill Toms & Hard Rain, Jim Donovan & Sun King Warriors, Billy Price, Chet Vincent, and more. 1:30 – 11 p.m. Saturday; 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. The nonprofit groups Band Together Pittsburgh and the Autism Society of Pittsburgh are the beneficiaries of the event. There will also be performances from musicians on the autism spectrum. The festival is produced in association with Ron Esser, owner of Moondog’s Pub. Syria Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way, Cheswick.

2) Carnegie Stage is hosting Three Rivers Revue Cabaret and their very fractured fairy tale—Dirty Disney. They’re promoting the show as “Ruining your childhood one tease at a time.” Performances by Three Rivers Revue members Emma Gee Kelly, Danger Dave, Pix E Poison, Fifi Folie, and Asha de Plumes. And they will be joined by special guests Rose Maywood and Hot Toddie. The zany event will be hosted by RP Harley. 7:30 and 10 p.m. 25 W. Main St., Carnegie.
