Social Justice Disco Envision 2020 Music Dance Party; Pgh Winter Beerfest; Enter the Imaginarium’s Search for Leviathan (Fri., 2/28/20)

1) Social Justice Disco is a collaboration between area musicians Phat Man Dee and Liz Berlin. The former is a jazz singer; the latter is a founding member of Rusted Root. They call their music “songs to fight fascists by” in order to counteract intolerance and injustice. These songs include originals and covers, such as “Have You Been To Jail for Justice?” (That song was written by local musician and activist Anne Feeney and was popularized by Peter, Paul and Mary.) Tonight’s event at Mr. Smalls is 2020: Envision a Brighter Future. 7 p.m. 400 Lincoln Ave., Millvale. (CM)

2) If you happen to be walking near the David L. Lawrence Convention Center Downtown today or tomorrow and notice a hoppy scent hanging on the winter breeze, it’s the Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest. The event features craft brews from over 125 breweries including: Pittsburgh Brewing Company, Erie Brewing, Fat Heads, Cigar City, Great Lakes, Magic Hat, White Claw, Church Brew Works, Rhinegeist, Helltown, Pabst, Straub, Sierra Nevada, and many many more. There will also be food trucks and live music. There are several different sessions and packages for the event. 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd.

3) Are you both a problem solver and a team player? Then Enter the Imaginarium is just the place for you and your group. Developed by the creative mind of local promoter/musician Rod Schwartz and the talented people at Bricolage Production Company. The concept is simple, but the escape is not. There are three different immersive escape rooms at The Imaginarium. One is the Chamber of Illusions, a room of magic and misdirection, where you must “Match wits with the mastermind responsible for the world’s most infamous illusions and expose the traitor who destroyed it all.” The second is The Inventors Paradox where you will “Turn back the hands of time and enter the lost memories of the Imaginarium’s creator. Explore the archives of his inventions, open the window to forever and release the secret that keeps him a prisoner of the past.” The newest escape room experience is The Search For Leviathan. Search the maps and plot your course under the seas as you and your group search for the shadowy creatures of the deep. Don’t worry everyone gets out eventually and there are rest rooms if needed. 32 Alpha Dr. W., Harmar.
