Strange Roots Experimental Ales Taprooms Open (Fri., 10/30/20)

It may look closed, but the Strange Roots' staff is inside, ready to carry beer to your car.

Both Strange Roots’ Millvale and Gibsonia taprooms are open, but online ordering and curbside pick-up will continue. See the brewery’s website for more details as well as what’s on tap and what bottles and cans are available. Some past favorites include Infinite Hibernation 2020 (13.4% ABV), an ale brewed with crystal malts and Belgian candy sugar, and Ragnarok (8.8% ABV), a dark sour with a name that means “end of the world” in Norse. One of their newer brews is The Plague, with a portion of its sales benefiting Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund. Both locations also serve food including smoked meat sandwiches, tacos and several vegetarian friendly items. Strange Roots opened in Millvale in 2011 as Draai Laag, specializing in sours and other innovative brews. It became Strange Roots in 2018.

Thursday thru Friday: 5-10 p.m.
Saturday: 2-10 p.m.
Note: Gibsonia location not open on Thursdays.
501 E. Ohio St., Millvale and 4399 Gibsonia Rd., Gibsonia. (CM)
