1) Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild: MCG Jazz and Youth Arts Fair. A cornucopia of fun events is taking place at the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild as part of RADical Days. There are hands-on projects and studio demonstrations, including a photo booth,T-shirt silk screening, pottery wheel demonstrations; “JazzMagic” with master magician Paul Gertner, who blends jazz with close-up magic (5:30 & 6:30 p.m). Try a flamin’ banana foster and other fun foods served up by Bidwell’s talented culinary arts students; don’t miss a special festival sale in the gift shop. Manchester Bidwell Corporation CEO William E. Strickland, Jr. & staff do a great job providing occupational and arts training. 5-7 p.m. Free. 1815 Metropolitan St., Manchester.
2) “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” based on the best selling novel by Pittsburgh native Stephen Chbosky (shot in Pittsburgh’s South Hills last summer), is now on screens at local cinemas. The film is a “coming-of-age” tale of three friends, their highs and lows. The talented cast features Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller. Filmmakers include author/director Stephen Chbosky and producer John Malkovich. Currently at the Manor Theater (Squirrel Hill) and AMC Loews Waterfront (West Homestead).
3) The Expendables are in town…No, not the stars of the movie, but a California surf/rock band blending reggae, pop and rock. Of the same musical genre and co-headliners are Iration, a band from the Hawaiian Islands. Also on the bill is Cisco Adler, a singer/songwriter from Malibu. California. Altar Bar, 7 p.m. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.
4) Jazz saxophonist Rick Matt takes the stage tonight at NOLA on the square. 8 p.m. No Cover. 24 Market Square, Downtown.
