Cool Picks brings you the best in Pittsburgh entertainment every day!

1) Legendary rock/pop musician Kenny Loggins, whose music has provided a soundtrack to many lives over four straight decades, is in concert at Carnegie Library Music Hall. He first made it big as part of the duo Loggins and Messina, with hits “Danny’s Song,” “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” and “Angry Eyes.” Loggins’ solo career brought him more success with “Danger Zone” from Tom Cuise’s Top Gun movie, “I’m Alright” and “Footloose.”  With his latest group, Blue Sky Riders, Kenny collaborates with songwriters/vocalists Gary Burr and Georgia Middleman, and the results are impressive harmonies.  7:30 p.m. Silent Partner opens the show. Carnegie Library Music Hall. 510 E. 10th Ave, Munhall.

2) Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, an innovative Americana and blues band from the foothills of southern Indiana,  play tonight at the Altar Bar. Also on the bill: The Last Bison, Gypsy & His Band of Ghosts. 7:30 p.m. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3) Jazz vocalist Fred Pugh, respected for his smooth, classic delivery of jazz standards by he likes of Pittsburgh native Billy Eckstine, Johnny Hartmann, Arthur Prysock, Lou Rawls and others.  Pugh is the featured artist in tonight’s JazzLive concert sponsored by BNY Mellon and Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.  5-7 p.m. No cover. Backstage Bar at Theater Square. 655 Penn Ave., Downtown Cultural District.

4) Space Exchange, an interesting jazz  series that explores the boundaries of jazz as it touches on other genres, is on tonight at Thunderbird Cafe.  The David Throckmorton Trio is featured, with drummer Throckmorton joined by Chris Parker (guitar) and Jeremy McDonald (bass). 9 p.m. No cover.
