1) Mr. Smalls Funhouse hosts the Old 97’s, an alt-country band who cut their teeth by playing in Dallas bars. Although they claim never to rehearse they are heralded for their great live shows. Special guest The O’s.8 p.m. 400 Lincoln Ave., Millvale.
2) Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Oakland is offering free admission every Thursday evening in March thanks to The Jack Buncher Foundation. Enjoy exhibits about different cultures, animals, dinosaurs, minerals, nature and ancient Egypt, etc.4 – 8 p.m. 4400 Forbes Ave.
3) Stage AE presents Lindsey Stirling, a violinist and entertainment dynamo. Her performances include elements of dance, choreography and performance art. Doors 7 p.m. 400 North Shore Dr., North Shore.
4) Adrenaline Mob is a new heavy metal supergroup created by former Dream Theater/Avenged Sevenfold drummer Mike Portnoy singer Russell Allen and guitarist Mike Orlando. Nothing More, Serpent Lord and Kevlar will also take the stage. 7 p.m. Altar Bar. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.
