1) Joe Bonamassa is a blues rock guitar virtuoso whose soaring lead guitar riffs are heavily influenced by British players, including Eric Clapton, John Mayall, and Jeff Beck. Bonamassa’s albums have occupied the number one spot on the Billboard Blues Chart 11 times. The current tour’s concerts include an acoustic set where he’s accompanied by international musicians then a second set that features a blazing, electrified performance. Many people will remember Bonamassa from his recent PBS concert specials. Pittsburgh has many great guitarists who enjoy seeing other talented players, and this is evident by the limited number of tickets still available for this show. 8 p.m. Benedum Center, 237 7th St., Cultural District.
2) California rockers Buckcherry, best known for their 2006 song “Crazy Bitch,” bring their “tatted arms,” loud voices, and instruments of rock to the Altar Bar stage tonight. This all crunches together for a heavy, delightful sound. Also on the bill are Fozzy, Adelita’s Way, and Descendsion. 7 p.m. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.
3) It’s Bike Night at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille; get those Harleys, Hondas, and BMWs rolling. Entertainment by local rockers JD Eicher & the Goodnights. 8 p.m. No cover. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.
4) Today is Day of Giving 2014, when you can donate to a registered nonprofit primarily serving Allegheny, Westmoreland, or Butler counties through pittsburghgives.org. Donation made between 6 a.m. and midnight will be matched (up to a certain amount) by area foundations. This is a great way to support your favorite charity or cultural institution.
5) The Bucs take on the San Francisco Giants again tonight in the second of a three-game home stand. 7:05 p.m. PNC Park, 115 Federal St., North Shore.
