Bush Plays Stage AE; Mardi Gras Party with Dr. Zoot at Jergel’s (CPs Tues., 2/17/15)

1) Bush—a British grunge rock band formed in London in 1992—gained early success with its first album Sixteen Stone, an immediate hit that is now certified as a six-time multi-platinum seller. The rockers’ 1996 release Razorblade Suitcase went to number 1 on the Billboard album chart. Their signature mix of grunge and metal, with an occasional ballad, has won them a worldwide fan base. Led by lead vocalist/guitarist Gavin Rossdale, Bush is currently touring in support of the 2014 release Man on the Run. Theory of a Deadman and Stars In Stereo open the show. Doors open 7 p.m. Stage AE, 400 North Shore Dr., North Shore.

2) It’s Fat Tuesday and there’s a Mardis Gras party going on at Jergel’s in Warrendale, where they’re hosting a themed-party with a psychic will do readings (4 – 8 p.m.), and there’ll be free beads, giveaways, and live music from the swing band Dr. Zoot. Bon Ton Roulet! 8 p.m. No cover. (There is a charge for a psychic reading.) 285 Northgate Dr.

3) The Pens faceoff tonight against the Washington Capitals in a 7 p.m. game at the Consol Energy Center. GM Jim Rutherford and head coach Mike Johnston have been trying to plug new and veteran players into different places in the puzzle in order to achieve a strong playoff run. That combined with strong goaltending from Marc-Andre Fleury has the team perking up. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.
