Jergel’s Hosts Balcony Big Band; Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in “Serena” (CPs Mon., 3/30/15)

1) The Balcony Big Band, with a special guest, is hitting only high notes in a Monday night performance at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. 7 p.m. No cover. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.

2) Serena – Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence team up for a third time (after Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle) to star in this adaptation of Ron Rash’s book. Originally planned as an Angelina Jolie vehicle directed by Darren Aronofsky, Susanne Bier helms this iteration set in North Carolina during the Depression. Cooper owns a lumber company and Lawrence is his new wife wanting to help turn the outfit into an empire. Things seem to be going well until Lawrence is revealed to be not quite the dame she’s been posing as. For times at your local movie house check Fandango.

3) It’s Global Mondays at Cappy’s Cafe in Shadyside with imported bottled beers for only $3. While there, team up an import with a bowl of their scrumptious chili, 1/2-pound beef or turkey burger, or French dip sandwich. 5431 Walnut St.
