1) Grit & Grace is all about opposites, hence their name and their American-Asian fusion cuisine. Newly opened last year, the restaurant has become a downtown favorite. They are especially known for their American dim sum; the dim sum even has its own menu. The way it works is customers can choose how much (or little) they want of any particular item off of the dim sum cart. Popular items include the pork belly bites and the eggplant. The lunch and dinner menus include soups, salads, noodles and other entrées. Patrons have also praised Grit & Grace’s dark wood decor and communal bar and Sunday brunch. 535 Liberty Ave., Downtown.
2) Poltergeist – L.A.’s in a tizzy right now trying to figure out who’s gonna be the new Spider-Man … since there hasn’t be a Spider-Man movie released in about the last seven minutes. And yet 32 years have gone by without a remake of this 1982 Steven Spielberg-written horror film (which gave us the classic line “They’re heeeeeeeeere.”) The reboot script is written by Pulitzer winner David Lindsay-Abaire and stars Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt as the quintessential happy suburban parents … until evil spirits enter the house and kidnap their daughter. Those damned evil spirits! For local screens and times check Fandango.
3) Our battlin’ Bucs take on the New York Mets in the second game of a three game series. Today’s afternoon game begins at 4:05 p.m. a Saturday block party will precede the game outside the ball yard. Oh, also it’s Josh Harrison bobble head day for first 20,000 through the turnstiles. PNC Park, 115 Federal St., North Shore.
