Older Pittsburghers love to wax nostalgic about restaurants that are no longer. But in Regent
Square, where the new Frick Park Tavern recently opened, no one’s really talking about the
former Ease Modern Comfort Cuisine which stood before it. Pittsburghers old—and young—are
flocking to this new iteration of space and cuisine that suits this diverse neighborhood perfectly. Their sous-vide cooked double-cut apple glazed pork chop is worth the price of admission. It’s accompanied by a tangy red cabbage and bacon risotto, which is also delectable. So, too, are the deviled eggs appetizer, about which my mother made me a snob. Other popular selections include the fish tacos and Frick Park Tavern’s signature entree, Jimmy’s Meatloaf. Domestic and imported wine and beers, and craft cocktails are also offered. This recently opened restaurant could become a new Pittsburgh classic. 1100 S. Braddock Ave., Regent Square. (P. Orr)
