1) Darius Rucker, former front man of Hootie and the Blowfish had a highly successful career singing hits like: “Only Want to be With You,” “Let Her Cry,” and “Hold My Hand.” Like many rockers, Rucker tried his hand at country music, and succeeded! The common denominator for him in both genres is a smooth, resonant voice. The Charleston, South Carolina, native has six solo albums to his credit and won a Grammy Award in 2013 for Best Country Solo Performance for “Wagon Wheel.” Rucker recorded a cover of the Metallica song “Nothing Else Matters” for the charity tribute album, The Metallica Blacklist in 2021. 8 p.m. Benedum Center, 237 7th St., Cultural District. (R.H.)
2) Comedian Craig Robinson came to national prominence as Darryl Philbin, the deadpan warehouse foreman at Dunder Mifflin Scranton on NBC’s “The Office.” What was a supporting role in season one became a starring role by season four. As Robinson garnered more laughs on “The Office,” he began appearing in feature comedies, such as 2007’s Knocked Up and 2010’s Hot Tub Time Machine. During live performances, he bridges music with comedy, whether with his band, The Nasty Delicious, or as a solo stand-up armed with a keyboard. Comedy wasn’t Robinson’s first occupation. He used to be an elementary school music teacher in Chicago, but switched careers when he joined The Second City. Currently he is in Pizza Hut commercials where he delivers the tag line “No one out-pizzas the hut.” Catch him at the Pittsburgh Improv Tonight at 7:30 and 9:45 p.m. and two shows tomorrow night. Sold out. (This isn’t his first time in Pittsburgh; he was here for the shooting of Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make a Porno in 2008.) 166 E. Bridge St., Homestead. (C.M.)
3) The Pittsburgh International Auto Show is going on at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Whether you’re looking for a hot rod, family sedan, or green machine, this is an opportunity to try your “fave” on for size. Experience vehicles from all the major auto companies. Additionally enjoy classic, custom, and concept car displays. There will also be music and local celebrities.10 a.m. – 10 p.m. today. Continues through February 21. 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd., Downtown.
